After heart surgery recovery - what is the best treatment for the patient?

Support: 1st phase of recovery last 6-8weeks. Instructions will be given before you leave the hospital. Instructions like diet, the rehab program, activities, wound care, bathing, pain control, leg swelling, driving, medication, sleep, emotions, sex, return to work, follow up care. Family support extremely important. Depression/transient decrease in cognitive skills may happen.

Normally: Once healed, and in rehab program - usual life and interactions . The surgery is to get the person to high level function, and not be "crippled"!
