Weight training: 10 lbs is a good starting weight and then you can increase from there. There some dumbbells on the market that have switchable weights that you may want to look at instead of buying separate weights.

Depends: Depends on what kind of training you are planning and what areas of the body. I would suggest 5, 10, 15, and maybe 20 lb dumbells to start. As you progress, you can add more. Start slow and build. Good Luck.

Strength training: Start 2-5 pounds in each hand. Once your body becomes stronger, you can choose to gradually increase the amount. Ideally, a strength workout should include 8 to 10 exercises targeting the major muscle groups. Take care.
