On average, how long will a sprained foot take to heal?

2-3 months: Depending on the severity of the sprain, usually 2-3 months. There is a particularly bad sprain of the foot, called a lisfranc injury, which can take longer and can often be misdiagnosed.

Ankle sprain: Severe ankle sprains could take 6 to 8 weeks for the pain to resolve. The best thing to do to treat the ankle sprain as quickly as possible is to rest, ice, compress, and elevate the ankle on a daily basis. You may want to also use an ankle brace to help stabilize the ankle to allow ligaments to heal.
