Hormone problem : The term "hormone" is often misunderstood. It is a substance produce by an organ that is secreted into the blood stream and affects tissues that are in other parts of the body. Examples are insulin, thyroid hormone, and cortisol to name just a few. Endocrine disorders are due to an excess or lack of a hormone, the body's inability to use a hormone correctly or a tumor in an endocrine organ.
