A member asked:

Is it common that a patient has bad headaches and other affects a week after an abdominal hysterectomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: An abdominal hysterectomy is a major operation. Headache would not be uncommon. I'm guessing your physician prescribed you some Ibuprofen for pain, you can try that for headache as well. Sometimes the pain pills your md might have prescribed, like vicodin or Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) can cause headache. Make sure to drink a lot, as dehydration #1 cause of headaches. See your md if concerns do not improve.
