Control: Singular is often used with an inhaled controller to further improve control. Could be that your night time attacks are problematic and this is an attempt by your physician to reduce them . Stick with it and see how it works.

Symptoms at. Night: Asthma symptoms are more severe at night usually between 10pm and 2am so it makes sense to take a once daily medication for asthma in the evening. If your asthma symptoms are worse during the day you may want to try taking singulair (montelukast) in the morning.
