Therapist : The questions suggests an adult with autism who is depressed about the diagnosis. If a therapist, who is familiar with this diagnosis, is not involved it is time to start. They can help work through the negative feelings and come to terms with diagnosis. They can also help you identify areas of increased skill which can be maximized. Medications, if needed, can be prescribed by physician.

Address autism sympt: If the depression is really about being autistic discovering that you can do something about many of the symptoms of autism would help. Learning how to interact with people, finding work that builds on you capacities, discovering that there are many autistic people with full lives can help. (see temple grandon's book different . . .Not less for lots of ideas.).
