A member asked:

Do you need blood work done to know if you're having heart problems?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessary : A good risk assessment with a history and physical and depending on your symptoms, an ekg and a stress test and possibly 2d echocardiogram will assess your heart capacity very well. Blood work will be part of the risk assessment to r/o diabetes, hyperchol, anemia and renal disease as independent factors for heart disease.
