A member asked:

Bottom of sternum hurts for 6 months nobody knows what it is gi good heart good blood work good nuc med body scan good no meds help what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Detached xyphoid?: There's a little bone at the bottom that can get knocked off the rest of the sternum and leave a hairline fracture that may heal poorly. It's diagnosed on physical exam. Especially if you do abs exercises, that may be keeping it going. Just one possibility. If I am right, it's a non-danger.
