A member asked:

I'm just wondering, if you are a football player, 6'2 and 245lbs, are you considered over weight?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes. Means nothing: The "body mass index" categories were never even meant to apply to individuals, and the fad for using them for individual assessment is misguided. In fact, john cena is "obese". Back in the 1990's my city tried to send all the police officers who work out for treatment for "overweight". I intervened successfully. In fact, the new studies have "overweight" folks living longer & healthier.
