It depends: Weight loss in any activity depends upon several variables. The intensity and frequency of workouts (practice and games) both play a large role and will increase the energy burned as both variables increase. Simply put, if you burn more energy than you take in, you will, on aggregate, lose weight. As your fitness and endurance improve, you will become leaner, stronger and feel better and lose less.
