Not the same: Ovarian torsion caused by twisting on blood vessels & usually fallopian tube cutting off blood supply to ovary. Partial cause could be ovarian cyst. Can be diagnosed by ultrasound & corrected laparoscopically. Ovarian rupture is ruptured corpus luteum cyst, also very painful.Possible internal hemorrhage. Temporize if minor not if severe. Both t&r conditons present with abdominal pain & vomiting.
