Severe pain: Torsed ovary is usually exquisitely painfull and typically results in an emergency surgery to de-torse or remove the ovary. Most often the damage caused by the interrupted blood flow to the ovary makes it necessary to remove the torsed ovary. Ovarian torsion usually is associated with an enlarged ovary due to cysts or tumors involving the ovary.

PAIN: Ovarian torsion causes severe & sharp pain that usually requires immediate surgery. If you wait too long, you might lose that ovary & tube since you're having the blood supply to that area twisted off...Ouch! most cases are from large cysts, tumors, or growths that also need to be evalusted for cancer risks.
