Cough Meds: Cough and cold meds are not safe if you child is under 4 years old. So for that age group you are stuck with warm drinks, a sucking candy, and maybe honey. For the older child, there are many choices of over the counter cough and cold medicines that you can try but don't count on any real effect except that most kids get tired from the medicine, so i would only suggest taking it at night.
