Can strep throat and taking antibiotics have an adverse effect on the baby during pregnancy?

Unlikely an issue: The strep throat germs are localized to the throat & will not enter the blood & get to baby. The discomfort you feel during the illness should have no long term effect on baby.The antibiotics used fro strep have no negative effect on the fetus.
