How long can you have to have gastritis for to be at serious risk for stomach cancer?

Long time: If the gastritis is from a bacteria called h. Pylori, it can be cured with a simple regimen of antibiotics and antacid-type treatment. Benign gastritis is not a risk for stomach cancer otherwise, and can be treated simply. If you have had gastritis, having a GI doc look at it will ease your mind and provide treatment. Good luck.

No relation: Gastritis is not a precancerous disease. Patients with gastric cancer have also gastritis but no because the gastritis was the cause of the cancer. Present time is not recommended gastroscopy as a follow up study for patients with gastritis.
