A member asked:

I am curious if alcoholic mouthwash can cause cancer , what happens when you drink alcohol?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Don't worry: Alcohol consumption has been linked to oral cancer. Heavy drinking and smoking together will greatly increase the chances of oral cancer. Don't worry too much about using mouthwash. Even though there is alcohol in it you typically don't use enough to cause a problem. You can use an alcohol free mouthwash if you are concerned.
