Less calorie intake: Many people tend to try fad diets that promise quick results, but these generally do not work over the long-term. I would recommend decreasing your total caloric intake and exercising more to burn calories. You can look online to determine the number of calories recommended for your body size. It may also help to keep a diary of your progress, as that may help motivate you to continue.

Small steps: Significant weight loss starts with small weight loss. Set smaller, 5 lb goals and achieve many of these through daily cardiovascular exercise. This is as easy as a 30-40 minute walk daily. Be persistent and you will succeed.

Eat less: You'd be surprised how little food you actually need to be healthy. Try eating 5 times a day only an amount of food that would fit in your hands cupped together. Reduce overall calories you get from carbs drink lots of water. Increase activity.
