Preop tests: For elective outpatient surgery the blood tests can be within 30 days of the procedure, on average. Each surgical team will have variables on this time frame. If the surgery is urgent or emergent and the patient is unstable the blood tests will need to be within days to hours before the procedure. Your surgery team should be able to guide you.
