Protection: This vaccine helps protect you against strains of a virus known to cause cancer many years after exposure & a type of wart that can produce cauliflower like small to giant bumps on your genitals. It is only helpful if completed months before exposure to the germ, which is often passed during sex. The shot does not protect against other std's or other types of warts.

Protection: The cervical cancer vaccine, a vaccine against some of the hpv virus strains, may cause local reaction, e.g. Pain, in some even fainting. HPV: Hpv vaccine blocks types 16 and 18 which cause cervical cancer. Vaccine is still good until age 26. If you have already had sex, the vaccine may have decreased effectiveness, but does not eliminate you from getting the vaccine if you want.
