What can i expect if my dad went to emergency yesterday and they diagnosed him with acute pancreatitis but are not 100% sure?

More blood tests: Acute pancreatitis is not very difficult to diagnose. It is often based on high levels of pancreatic enzymes(amylase and lipase) in someone who has severe abdominal pain. Serial enzyme levels in the blood would like show resolution over several days during which time he may be kept on IV fluids and nothing to eat or drink till the pancreas quietens.
