Best?: In my opinion if an achilles is ruptured you need a posterior splint until edema is down, then placed in a cast assuming your are asking about a post- op rupture.

Bauerfind!!!!!: If you are asking about a brace after the tendon has been repaired, i recommend a bauerfind achilles tendonitis ankle brace. It is a neoprene sleeve with soft gel padding on both sides of the achilles' tendon.
