Nickel maybe: Itchy rashes caused by jewelry including ear rings is most likely due to nickel allergy. The reaction is called allergic contact dermatitis. The most important treatment is avoidance of nickel-containing materials/jewelry. Cortisone creams or ointments can be useful in helping the itch and skin inflammation. Your personal physician can prescribe the best ointment for you.
