A member asked:

My 58 yrs old father has pain in left shldr and was diagnosed with calcium deficiency. doc advised a ca injection in bone. is the injctn really reqd.?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doesn't sound right.: Calcium deficiency in and of itself does not cause pain. A fracture may be caused by severe calcium deficiency but that would be unusual in a 58 year old male. Calcium can't just be injected into bone. All in all this does not make a lot of sense. I would seek clarification or a second opinion.
