A member asked:

My 27 mo old has a walnut size welt by the crown of his head. his pupils aren't abnormal & he's acting fine. at what point should i have it checked?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Progressive decline.: If he had no loss of consciousness and he is acting fine there is no need for him to be seen. On the other hand if he develops a progressive neurologic deficit - inability to use an extremity, or progressive sleepiness he should be seen immediately.
