A member asked:

Hi we live in india. my father aged 52 has acute acidity problem. he takes omniprezol three times a day? is there any alternative ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Persistent acidity: A 52 year old man whose acidity does not improve with Omeprazole needs further testing with an endoscope to check for ulcers and tumors. Acid reducing medication resolve acidity very quickly; if the symptoms persist despite the medication, endoscopy is helpful to find out ulcers and tumors. If endoscopy does not find a cause, scans may be required to check pancreas, gallbladder, & other organs.
