Some thing missing: What test were done during these 2 hospitalization ? . It is possible you may have small stones in your bile ducts, you need ERCP or mrcp (mri ) to visualize bile ducts or some other unrelated problem , speak to your doctor. More info , may be papillary stenosis stenosis , pancreatic divisam an abnormal pancreas duct opening , some times not easy to find the cause good luck.

Not exactly: Patients can have pain similar to biliary colic after cholecystectomy, not due to contraction of the gall bladder against resistance, but due to such entities as: cystic duct syndrome, sphincter of odi spasm, stricture of the extrahepatic bile duct system or primary or retained common bile duct stone/sludge. You need studies such as mrcp and ERCP to determine the cause. A GI consult is needed.
