DEPENDS: The prognosis for colon cancer does not depend on the length of time that you have had symptoms. It does depend on size and depth of the tumor, if it has spread to lymph nodes or other places and genetics of the cancer itself. Some patients have very advanced tumors with no symptoms while some have symptoms and have a very curable cancer.
