Temporary only: Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine, and acts on GABA receptors in your brain. But this activity is temporary, not permanent. Prolonged use can lead to tolerance, habituation, mental cloudiness, memory dysfunction, etc. Tapering off the medication should allow these to resolve. No anatomical brain changes have been found. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10653201.
