Tourette Syndrome: Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder which shows up in early childhood or adolescence before age 18. There are multiple motor and vocal tics lasting for more than one year. The first symptoms usually are involuntary, frequent, repetitive, and rapid movements (tics) of the face, arms, limbs or trunk. Vocal tics may be grunts, throat clearing, or barking -- less often, curse words.
