I had l5-s1 fusion done, and wondering how bad the bruising can get or should it not bruise that bad. it's not bruising around incisions.

Bruising: Actually, bruising is quite normal after surgery. Your body's ability to clot blood after surgery is what factors into this finding. Excessive activity after surgery may also result in some bruising around the surgery site. Minimally invasive surgery seems to cause a bit of this around the small incisions since a cautery cannot be used as precisely when the incision is not opened widely.
