NO: I've seen people on three or four medications each day to control their symptoms. If this is working and you have a follow-up plan with this doctor i would stick with the "winning combination".

Optimize, evaluate: You have a hiatal hernia. You have reflux disease. Your doctor recommends a new therapy of proton pump and h2 blocker. All new therapy needs time to optimize and see if it makes you feel better. After 2 weeks call your doctor if you don't notice improvement. Surgical correction isn't a last choice. Patients can stop medications sometimes.
