It can be detected at low levels in men of all ages, but increases when the prostate enlarges or becomes inflamed.Psa test used to screen men for prostate cancer or for recurrence of cancer.Benign prostatic enlargement, inflammation (prostatitis), recent ejaculation, strenuous bicycle riding, and recent rectal exam can be cause.
