A member asked:

Need info on treatment for high psa after prostatectomy. level is rising?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PSA: Psa, prostate-specific antigen, is an enzyme made by the prostate, and it may be elevated from inflammation of the prostate, enlargement of the prostate (bph), or carcinoma. So, increasing psa is relative to your former reason for prostatectomy. If you had bph, it could be regrowth of benign tissue. If cancer, increasing psa is recurrent cancer until proven otherwise.
