A member asked:

My grandma said that today she went to the doctor and the doctor said that the urea was high on her. is that good or bad? what causes that. thank you?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Don't Rx the number: A high blood urea nitrogen can reflect anything from mild kidney failure to being dehydrated to having eaten a big steak a few hours beforehand. It means nothing in isolation. Thanks for asking.
