I got a root canal done. i don't like the crown they put on me;it feels too bulkly. i made more visits to get it shaved down and i still don't like it. is redoing the crown not good for my teeth under?

No problem: If you don't like the crown have it redone. It won't hurt the tooth underneath in any way.

No effect: The crown can be redone and should have no effect on the root canal treatment.

No: The dentist should be able to remove the crown without doing any damage to the underlying tooth structure. The crown should be removed by drilling it off and then a new crown can be fabricated.

Not necessarily: Your dentist should have asked you how you liked the crown prior to final cementation. If you feel like it is too big, then they should redo it for you, if they stand behind their workmanship. Ask your dentist to have it redone and ask them to have you visit the lab for a custom shade. Otherwise, have them explain why your new crown is the size that they made it, maybe your original was as big.
