Tooth #3: How long ago did you have the root canal? Sometimes there is a flair-up that takes a little while to calm down. If the pain is due to the placement of the post, it's possible there is a fracture in the root. In any case, the tooth should be examined to determine the cause of the pain. Call your dentist and tell them about the pain and make an appointment to have it examined.

See DDS: Possible fracture, see your dentist for a definitive diagnosis. Other variables include, infection which may warrant an apicoectomy or missing canals, perhaps an antibiotic may aleve your symptoms. The dentist will also check that the bite is not high.
