10: Ten years old is usually considered the earliest age. Although there are documented cases of women younger than that going through menarche. Most women follow their mother in age of menarche. Over the last 100 years the age of menarche has gotten younger & younger. Typical now is 12-14 years old in north america. If you are younger than this be sure to see your doctor.
