A member asked:

I have cheek&eye pain. images show cysts in maxillary sinuses. doc advises to remove cysts, but isn't it better to try steroids and antibiotics first?

Depends: You may need steroid and antibiotics in addition to the surgery post-imperatively. If there is a cyst and its causing the eye and face pain then surgery help to remove and resolve the pain. Medication may not help to resolve the cyst. Medication helps with sinusitis but not the cyst.

Cysts Maxillary : Those cysts usually do not need removal unless they fill the sinus up or look like they are more involved : erode bone or are irregular. Most are very benign and do not need any other medications.
