A member asked:

Can you get a lip infection the next day after kissing someone? (its just a lip infection not herpes as far as we know)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Whether or not: You contract an infection by direct contact depends on many factors, such as how many organisms you came into contact with, how long you were in contact, where on the body you contacted, whether you had any breaks in the skin surface, virulence of organism, your body's ability to fight the infection. So, yes, depending on the circumstances, it is possible to get a lip infection the next day.
