My mom (62) is at the er right now and found out her blood sugar is 700 due to steroids she is taking for crohns. how serious is this?

Very: She needs immediate IV fluids and insulin, which i'm sure they're giving her. She may need Insulin or other therapy even after leaving the hospital.
