Do the herbal based compounds widely advertised for skin tag/mole removal work?

Herbal mole removal: I think that they are a bad idea. Destroying a lesion without being able to examine it pathologically is bad because sometime the most innocuous looking "moles" can be cancer. An amelanotic melanoma will not have any pigment in it and can look like a small reddish bump. It is unlikely that the creams would adequately remove such a lesion.I have seen cancers in "skin tags" and other unexpected spot.

Unlikely : I am skeptical of these plant based creams being effective in the removal of skin tags . A dermatologist will cauterize small tags and surgically remove larger ones in a simple procedure.
