Variable: Very early OB ultrasounds can have a variable appearance. A gestational sac should be visible with a transabdominal ultrasound, with the yolk sac and fetal pole probably visible with endovaginal ultrasound. Cardiac activity may also be seen. Follow up us or serial HCG levels can help confirm pregnancy status if there is any concern.
