Pharyngitis: Persistent throat infection needs to be reevaluated by your doctor. The 3 days of zpak was less than the optimal duration of 5 days, and if the throat infection is due to a bacteria that is resistant to zithromycin then 2 days of Amoxicillin is too soon to determine failure of the antibiotic. Was a throat culture obtained?
