Ibuprofen: This anti-inflammatory may have irritative effects on the gastric lining, but diarrhea would be very unusual. The diarrhea may be due to the same virus producing your pericarditis (if it is viral). This should not make you condition worse.

Talk with your Dr.: Ibuprofen can affect the stomach. Talk with your doctor to see if he has any recommendations for other medications or therapies.
