Follow up needed: Follow up with your doctor to find out what is going on. You may have a wisdom tooth that needs to be extracted and take care of this, but it most likely is not the cause of your swollen lymph glands in your neck.

YES: Any infection in the oral cavity can cause a lymph node to swell. It could be anything from an infected tooth that needs root canal, to a wisdom tooth, to a cancer, or most simply an allergic reaction or a cold. The lymph nodes on the side of the neck drain the mouth and the nose so they can be infected by something as silly as hay fever.
