Depends...: ...On how high the LDL cholesterol is, and what other risk factors for cardiac disease you may have. Many patients who get aches with one statin are able to tolerate another. Most aches go away within a week or two. I would suggest discussing trying another statin with your pcp.

Eat less animal fat: For slightly high cholesterol, you can change your diet by decreasing your carbs and dairy intake since that seems to be a bigger source of animal fat for women than eating beef/pork and can change your ldl. Also, adding exercise, fiber through more plants, red yeast rice found in canada since they still have the statin like part, and cholestoff found at drug stores. Also use coq10 before statin.
