Ocular wasp bite: The first step is to reduce swelling with ice or cold compresses. For the pain take otc ibuprofen, 2-3 tabs 3 times a day. For severe swelling around the eyes you may need a prescription for cortisone tablets (prednisone or methylprednisolone) for a week. Finally watch for signs of infection which will show up between 24-48 hours after the bite with increased redness, pain, swelling. See a doctor.

Wasp stinger: Please be aware that the wasp stinger may be retained in the conjunctiva and lead to further problems if not removed. After flushing the eye, it is important to seek medical treatment if not better in 12-24 hours.
