A member asked:

Could my emergence from sad have been affected by the "late" spring and dark, rainy weather in april in the midwest this year?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: There are many different treatments for classic (winter-based) seasonal affective disorder, including light therapy with sunlight or bright lights, antidepressant medication, cognitive-behavioral therapy, ionized-air administration, and timed supplementation of the hormone melatonin. Of course the weather can affect symptoms.
