If they don't smoke: The smoke residue that remains on someones clothes or skin is not going to have any known significant effects on you or your baby. It is tobacco smoke in the air that is the problem, not residual smoke. Taking a bath, washing your clothes, and just good handwashing before handling the baby should take care of it.
